The RYUKAGE

Six clans of immense power.                                                                                       

Born in feudal Japan by the union of holy blood and powerful elemental magic, the descendants of this clan are all direct blood relatives of the powerful Shinto priestess, Ayami Nishiyama, who banished the evil Kuragami demons from earth many centuries ago.

When the Kuragami found a way to once again escape their realm, the six daughters of a ronin samurai trader named Hitoshi Morita who were also blood relatives of Nishiyama, joined forces with six powerful warriors to defeat them.

Each one of these warriors possessed unique powers and fighting styles based on the six elements of fire, water, wind, earth, sand, and gold. Over the years the descendants of these clans have continued to grow stronger although over countless centuries, their heritage has been forgotten.

While male members tend to be very temperamental and hot-headed which often gets them into trouble. their kempo like fighting style is very brash and destructive. They have the ability to fire super-heated blasts of energy from their hands with little effort.

Recently, some of the younger male members of the clan have begun to display the rarely seen ability to teleport. This technique not only allows them to travel faster than the speed of light for a short period of time while covering great distances, but it can also be used as an attack.

As it stands, due to the nature of their attacks, many of the techniques developed by members of this clan have proven to be the most devastating of all them all.

Members of this clan can control the element of water. They can also form weapons virtually out of thin air by using their psionic powers to transform water particles in the air into a special kind of ice that is virtually unbreakable. This is mostly seen in female members.

Members also tend to possess limited psychic powers such as telepathy and telekinesis. They can fire energy blasts as well. Female members tend to use soft water attacks, while male members tend to use hard water or ice attacks. Very few know how to use both. This clan's fighting style is flowing and lethal, like traditional jujutsu.

Kyoku No Fu (canyon wind) Clan

Members of this clan control the element of wind. They naturally have the ability to fly. Females also possess telepathic abilities. This clan is the only one that has two separate fighting styles for males and females. The females style is the "Sakura no Ken" (Cherry Blossom Fist) and the male style is "Crying Tiger's Moon".

Both of these kung fu like styles are very lethal. The Sakura fist is flowing and based on Ki manipulation, and body movement like Tai Chi, while the Crying Tiger is bases on strength and speed. Nikki is the second member to ever learn both and was therefore granted the right to bear the Tiger's Eyes (the Kung fu rings she carries).

The unique thing about this clan is that while male members also naturally inherit the ability to fire energy projectiles from their hands, females do not. They channel their energy through weapons that they can control at will.

However, females also have an advantage because unlike male members, "White Wind", a guardian tiger spirit that protects all female members of the clan from birth, watches over them. He does not protect males because when he was a wounded cub, it was one of the priestesses from the clan that found and raised him. When she was killed in battle years later, White Wind, though wounded as well, carried her body to safety. The white tiger also died but the priestess' spirit revived him and put him in charge of protecting the future priestesses of her bloodline, which he's been doing ever since.

To the human eye, the tiger is invisible. Only those with psionic powers can see him. He has the power to heal his new master when she's wounded, and he's always there to comfort her even if never summoned. He simply appears when she needs him. He also has the power to guard her in another way by becoming her battle armor.

When in battle armor form, he grants female members the enhanced strength, endurance, and the ability to fire energy projectiles from their hands. This makes the females of this clan ultimately more powerful and better rounded than the males. Females of this clan also have the ability summon extremely powerful spiritual entities called "Gaia", which are also knows as "guardians of the earth".

These Gaia often take the form of legendary and mythological beasts recorded throughout human history. Each Gaia possesses an unique ability which the priestesses of this clan summon them to use when in dire need.

However this summoning comes with a high price because in order for the Gaia to manifest itself into the human realm, it must use the life-force of the summoning priestess as a medium through which to manifest itself. For this reason, only high level priestesses can use this ability. That is why this technique is commonly knows as a forbidden technique amongst the members of the clan.

Sunada (field of sand) Clan

This clan has the ability to fire energy blasts and manipulate time to a certain degree making them a very powerful opponent. However, this is not without consequences. Of all the clans, this one's power tends to be the most unstable so members generally tend not to use them in a large degree unless absolutely necessary. Also, because "time slipping" takes a tremendous amount of concentration and energy, it also takes a physical toll on the practitioner.

If used correctly, this ability can allow members to move virtually at the speed of light where not even the most trained of eyes can see or sense them. While in the null field, everything around them moves in slow motion. Many side effects can also occur such as a result of it such as premature aging and many other unusual things.

That is why this clan uses its power very cautiously. While this clan's original fighting style was very reminiscent of traditional karate in form. Over the years many of the old techniques were forgotten and replaced by new ones. Christina uses a self-taught freelance street fighting style that is a mix of every martial art she's come in contact with. It is a very lethal style.

When it comes to actual hand-to-hand combat, members of this clan prove to be one the most lethal. They are also one of the more intellectual because when fighting other clan members, they often chose to rely more on their skill and cunning and only used their powers to a small degree.

Members of this clan inherit the most ancient of weapons that is passed from generation to generation; the Dragon's Lance, a double-ended bow staff made of pure energy. Members of this clan can channel their energy into this staff to make it stronger and perform many devastating attacks. However, they are also strong without it. Members of this clan can also manipulate plant life to a small degree causing it to grow or age at will.

This clan represents the element of earth. They draw energy from the ground and are very strong while standing on it. Unlike the other clans, this clan is the only one who can "store" energy like a battery. When in contact with the earth, they continue to grow stronger and stronger.

This clan possesses the ability to fire deadly energy blasts from both their hands and their feet. No other clan can do this; therefore, the kicking techniques of this clan are very devastating because they draw energy directly from the ground through their feet almost like a constant static charge that they can unleash at any time.

Members of this clan can also take the stored energy in their bodies and project it around themselves in a protective ball of light, which not only acts as a shield but also allows them to hurl themselves at enemies with comet-like speed.

Since earth is the second most abundant of all elements and supports a variety of different wild life, some members of the clan are said to have developed anamorphic characteristics as well, allowing them to partially or fully transform into beasts such as wolves of other wild beasts depending on their personality. Members of this clan tend to posses an extremely fine-tuned navigational sense in addition to their other five natural senses making them exceptional trackers. However, this is rarely seen. The most unique characteristic about this clan is their ability to store and channel energy.

When attacked with an energy-based attack, members of this clan can store the energy for later use then release it at a later time with greater force. This makes them a very lethal enemy. Their traditional fighting style uses very hard and rugged hand and kicking techniques much like the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do.

Rumored to be the most powerful of all the clans, this clan uses a very ancient and lethal kung-fu-like killing style which very few people have ever faced and lived to tell about.

The use of this style in addition to their unchecked natural abilities are what led them to be banished from the Court of the Ryukage and sent to the human world where it was thought that they would eventually die off or become weaker due to the dilution of their bloodline. They have not been seen since and all records of them were burned. No one knows what really happened to them.
