The KURAGAMI

Sworn enemy of mankind, the Kuragami live to bring total destruction to mankind. Born of pure evil, these demons thrive off of the chaos and hatred that flourishes in the hearts of men. At one time these demons freely roamed the earth and destroyed everything in their paths. However, due the efforts of a powerful Shinto priestess named Ayami Nishiyama, the Kuragami were forced into a long period of hibernation during which the inter-dimensional gate they came from was completely sealed.

Later, an earthquake in Japan caused the seal to crack awakening some of the demons and allowing a few of them to escape from their prison. The rift between dimensions was very unstable and would only appear once every seven years. Only one demon could leave before the rift would be re-sealed for another seven years. Looking for revenge against the priestess that imprisoned them so many hundreds of years ago, they ran into the Morita family and began hunting down all of the female descendants of their ancient rival, Nishiyama.

Lacking a physical form, these demons possess the minds and bodies of mentally weak or injured creatures. Once possessed, these creatures are transformed into huge, pitch-black, and very powerful harbingers of death and destruction with razor sharp bones and almost impentrable skin.
