This page goes out to all of you serious martial
artists out there. It doesn`t matter which nationality, race,
creed, which art you choose to practice. For
those of you who are truely sincere in trying your best to
improve yourselves in mind, body and spirit, while helping
those aroud you, standing against injustice and protecting
those who are too weak to do so themselves, this page and the
book its based on are written for you. You are the guardian`s
of this world.
This dedication doesn`t just include people
who have studied martial arts. It includes anyone and everyone
who has truely stood up and fought for what they believed in
and to make this world a better place for future generations
to come.
In my mind, the people below are some of the
greatists martial artists and warriors in the world today.
I hope that their fighting spirit can carry over into the next
generation of young warriors as well! (In
this dedication, I like to put the guys that have gotten the
least recognition for their accomplishments first! The more
well known actors are at the bottom. No disrescpect intended!)

Loren
Avedon (The
Original King of the Kickboxers)
One of the greatest and most under-rated of the 1990`s,
this man along with many others helped to inspire
thousands of young martial artists such as myself to
pursue their dreams of becoming the best we could be
in whichever way possible. His contribution to the
martial arts community through movies like King
of the Kickboxers, No
Retreat, No Surrender 2 & 3 helped
to create a spark that helped to catipult action movies
to a higher level and increasingly stirred interests
in the martial arts
in a way that very few had ever done before! Regardless
of what people may think , this guys is still a force
to be reckoned with on the screen. The problem is,
ppl just don`t know how to make films to fir him anymore.
Since he left the screen, action martial arts action
movies have lost their flare. I hope someday to see him
and others like him kicking their way back onto the big
screen where they belong. The world needs good role models!
Another stunning martial artist of the 90`s, this guy didn`t
get NEARLY the amount of credit he deserved! The classic
fight scenes and roles he played back in then are to this
very day some of the most memorable in martial arts action
movie history! Balance, Power, Speek, Finnesse. Billy Blanks
still has it all! While most artists let their edge dull
over the years, this guy has stayed at it and stayed out
ther fighting ifor what he believes in and helping people
around the world in his own way! He`s always out there
doing the best he can 24/7.
I know a lot of people try
to dog him for the Tae Bo thing... The man is a genius!
If anyone doesn`t agree, just try the extreme workout...
But more than any of his accomplishments on film is his
desire to genuinely help people improve themselves. This
guys is definately an inspiration to thousands, if not
millions of people across the globe!
Billy Blanks, I
salute you! Hope to see you again on the big screen sometime
soon in a role that`s really worth your talent! You,
Loren and Cynthia were three of the main influences of
my writing style!
The absolute greatest and most under-rated female action star of all time! While
she`s still out there doing her thing today, I think Hollywood made a huge mistake
by not giving her any major big screen roles! Her movies in the 1990`s like ,
really helped to inspire thousands of young martial artists such as myself and
also helped to make people take notice of the fact that size and stature don`t
mean anything in a street brawl! It just depends on who wants to win the most!
Cute, funny, sexy, lethal but with a geniun heart of
gold (from what I`ve read) she is the ultimate action
heroine and a great role model for any young girls interested
in martial arts! What ever happened to actresses like
her? That`s a question we should all be asking ourselves.
Would love to see her throwing down in a major Hollywood
movie soon!
Daniel
Bernhardt (Bloodsprt
2 and 3 were WAAAAAAAY Better !)
Another great martial artist who should see a lot more screentime! Power, Grace,
speed, and he can actually ACT! I was sooooooo glad when this guy replaced Van
Damme for the Bloodsport series, otherwise I would have never watched them!
Daniel came out just in time to fill the gap created
in the Hollywood action market! Would love to see him
in an action movie with martial artists that can actually
give him a good run for his money! (No, not Keaneu Reeves...)
Michelle
Yeoh (Fighting goddess
of elegance and beauty!)
By far one of the most stunning and beatiful action stars
on the planet, her grace, speed, precision and beaty have
captivated the hearts of many men including myself for
years. The lady is the definition of strenth, beatury and
elegance. No one else even comes close. also, the fact
that she does her own stunts and isn`t afraid to face her
fears makes he a powerful force to be reconned with both
on the screen and off f it. She`s very calm and laid back,
not like most actresses to day. Definately someone who
has been through the fire and earned her place among the
stars!
Would like to see her in a movie worth of her talent
as well!
Wesley
Snipes (100% Pure Carnage!)
Hollywood hasn`t even begun to tap this guy`s true potential!
The Blade series was great but Wesley is a far more capable
actor than that. I have lots of respect for this guy because
not is he a solid actor capable of filling any role handed
to him, but he`s also a very serious martial artist. I
was captivated by him since I first saw "Demolition
Man"
! That`s when I knew there was much more to him than just
being another black actor. He was the perfect actor for
the Blade! No one else in Hollywood would have even come
close to fitting that particular role.
The fact that he`s an afro-american makes him stand
out from the rest of his martial arts/ action peers and
to really mark his place as an icon and positive role
model within the black community! Positive role models
like him and Billy Blanks are exactly what we need nowadays.
I like Wesley Snipes because first and formost, before
acting, he`s a family man and a serious martial artist!
Unfortunately, I`ve besides the Blade series, I`ve never
seen him in a role that really allows him to unleash
the raw, unbridled power that he has inside. Basically,
I think people actually have trouble writing roles to
fit people like him, Loren and Billy.
Hopefully soon one of the directors or screenwriters
will come up with a role suitable enough to let him cut
loose on the screen without restraint. Blade was close,
but I think there`s much more to him than that!
Would love to see him in a role with REAL martial artists
of the same caliber like Loren Avedon, Billy Blanks and
Cynthia Rothrock!
Tony
Jaa (Hope for the future
of action movies!)
What is there not to say about this vibrant
young man! Balance, Speed, Power, Undefined energy
and crazy aerial maneuvers, Tony Jaa has almost single-handedly
brought life back to Hong Kong 90`s style action
movies! With films like Ong
Bak and Tom
Yum Goong (Ong
Bak 2) No one in their right mind can deny
this guy`s spirit and fighting skill. He`s young
and hasthe potential to excel much further assuming
he doesn`t lose himself in the money and fame. I
hope that`ll never be the case because he seems to
be a very smart and down to earth guy! I`d love to
meet him some day and to see him star in movies with
some of the other great actors listed on this page!
